A week full of Christmas fun and glitter galore!

As we all know the big day is approaching us quickly, so excitement has over ridden us this week in the Burrow for our Christmas week (especially that we can get very..very glittery!)

Lauren, Chynna, Sophie and I all planned some activities that we could carry out throughout the week.

Last week we started to make our Christmas tree, which we decided to make out of hand prints! We printed lots and lots of green hand prints to be the tree and a few brown ones for the trunk of the tree! Some children and I decorated some A4 sheets of card using PVA glue and glitter to make  presents to go under our tree.

This week our activities have been, decorating baubles, cutting and snipping our snowflakes, glittery snowy play dough, Christmas cards and making reindeer food.

As normal we spilt the morning and afternoon, where some of us go off to forest school and the others will stay inside and carry out a planned activity and free flow out into the garden. So this week the inside group have been using their fine motor skills to use scissors to cut and snip out some snowflakes. The children mixed together oats and glitter to make reindeer food, they then spooned the oats into their own envelope which has some instructions on for our mummies and daddies to let them know what to do with it!

The other half of the burrow had ventured into the barn to firstly have snack and then decorate some baubles with again…lots of glitter!! We set out the table with paintbrushes, pots of glue and glitter.

We’ve also made individual cards for our families with a lovely Christmassy photo of their child on the front! So if you have walked past the burrow and seen Lauren or I doing a strange dance or pulling funny faces, it was to make the children laugh for their photo!!

Burrow parents – apologies for the glitter overload!!

The burrow staff wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thanks for reading,
