Welcome to a new term from Valerie's kitchen

September 29, 2015 Valerie

Our nutritional, tasty menu’s run on a five week rota, this enables every child to sample all the food/s. My food planning gives a variety of tastes and textures for the children to experience. Each day the menu’s allows different proteins such as a Vegetarian, Fish, White Meat, Pink Meat (such as pork or duck), and Red Meat. On occasions we will try meats from other country's such as Ostrich, you will be informed of this prior just in case you have strong opposing opinions. Free Rangers cater for all food intolerances and special dietary requirements. I love using different alternative ingredients to make new recipes and allowing the children (and staff) to experience this!!

Daily menu’s we be emailed to you, please feel free to comment or ask questions about the food/s we provide, or even for a sneaky recipe!! My email address is valeriefreerangers@gmail.com. I am always open to new ideas and ingredients.

The new Autumn menushave been  are a hit with  about 98% of the children, this is evident due to lots of clean plates and some even having 4ths and 5ths and asking “more” well done those hungry munchkins!!!  It’s safe to say our little Free Rangers do not go hungry!!

Each month we will be focusing at what we eat and drink. We would love to know your thoughts and feelings about the subjects that will arise, my aim is that we provide a better understanding of our food ethos, it will also help if it becomes apparent that we need to change/adapt our ingredients due to information provided. As we are aware the press ‘evaluate’ the food/s we eat and recommend the daily intakes etc.

THINK ABOUT YOUR FOOD!

This month we are focusing on the Water in which we drink. There are 3 types available to drink; Tap, Spring and rain!

Next week we will list the pros and cons of all three and will be asking for your feedback.

I hope you find my blog useful and I look forward to your comments.

Val

Below are some of the lovely delights that your children have sampled…..

Plum Pudding, Sausage Salad, Stewed Apple and Yogurt, (Grown and Picked from Jayne’s garden) and Chicken Curry…. All of which were devoured from the Rangers!!
