Diary of a Novice Chicken Keeper

September 25, 2014 Charlotte

Apologies for the radio silence, we've been busy settling the children into another school year and settling the chickens into their new abode.

Now we're sure the chickens are healthy, we approached lovely Tom Vaughn, creator and innovator at Tom's Hen Houses. We have worked in the past with Tom. He crafted the platform that Vince's log cabin sits on. So we know he shares the Free Rangers' ethos of doing things a little bit differently whilst thinking about the impact our actions have on each other and the planet.

We didn't hesitate in asking him to create one of his beautiful hen houses for the chickens. He promised us that although it came flatpack, we'd be able to put it up within an hour. Well we didn't really believe him. My husband exhaled between his teeth when I told him this, and exclaimed that would never be the case.

So we filmed the assembly process, and sure enough we had the new beautiful hen house up in under 45 minutes. Here's the proof!

If you're thinking of taking on chickens, or like us, were quite keen to move into the chicken coup itself, give Tom a call....he's passionate about what he does!
