Messy play in the Burrow

Key Topics/themes, what has gone well? (child led focus) 
 

Messy play – foam, paint, glitter

Play dough – different colours and smells – using role play kitchen, pans & paper cases

Painting- on fabric, corrugated card sheets, bubble wrap, large egg trays, paper plates

Printing with paint and sink plungers

Mark making with crayons and chalks

Water play – pouring filling and emptying using different containers

General information (stay and play dates/lost property/illness and so on) 
 

Stay and Play – Thursday 27th July for parents and children who started in the Burrow from April 2017 to date

Lots of clothing unnamed so difficult to return – please come and have a look – will be recycled if not collected

PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING

Please let us know when your child is unwell and will be staying at home.

If your child has sickness and/or diarrhoea please do not send them to nursery until 48hrs after the last bout

If your child has had Calpol they must not come into nursery

Upcoming Events/themes for following month
 

Transition – 48 of our children are moving to the Den in September – we will be organising settling in sessions with Tam the room leader – more information to follow

We still need more photos for our family boards please – family members, holiday snaps

‘Wow’ moments from families to share with everyone in the Burrow

Burrow Parents Have Talent! – An invitation to share your skills with the children (and the staff) – would anyone like to come in for about half an hour to play an instrument, do some dancing/yoga, sing with the children, show and talk about an unusual pet, read stories or share other talents?

Please let us know and we’ll arrange a suitable time.

I spoke to Norton Hill students this week.
It was our chance to tell them all about Early Years Education during one of their careers assemblies.

It’s not easy trying to sell a career that is underpaid and undervalued within our society. .

So here we go.

This amazing totally handmade tree was crafted at the weekend by Charlotte from the Den, along with the gorgeous
A get together before Christmas. .
We went to @fosse_farm for a Christmas wreath building session and Sue put on such a lovely evening with nibbles and drinks and Robbie Williams playing.
.
It can be hectic at this time of year but Sue kept everyone
On Friday night Tammy and Sophie from the Hive and the Den taught us how to “Pom Pom” (not sure if that’s an actual verb) and gave us a taster at being a majorette for the night.
.
I think we all incurred a few bumps and bruises but
Introducing Bramble, causally mooching around her native habitat. 
She lives on site at Free Rangers and the children have all got to know her well.
