CHARLOTTE LUCAS
CO-FOUNDER AND OWNER
After completing a BSc at Southampton University. I became a hockey coach at All Hallows Preparatory School. Upon covering for a colleague who unfortunately for them, but fortunately for me experienced a nasty skiing injury, I realised I wanted to enter into teaching and education. I completed my GTP whilst at All Hallows and became a fully fledged Primary Years Teacher in 2004.
After a few years teaching Year 3, I undertook my Level 3 Forest School Leader’s qualification. Since then I have swapped an indoor classroom for an outdoor one and have really enjoyed facilitating learners’ journeys in natural surroundings.
Jayne and I then decided to embark upon the Free Rangers’ adventure with the belief that children benefit from learning through play within an outdoor environment. A year on from opening; we still can’t see the wood for the trees (hee hee) but we wouldn’t have it any other way. I also offer Forest School Level 1,2, and 3 training at All Hallows Preparatory School in Somerset. Please see the link for further information.
Thank you for taking the time to find out a little bit about what we do and I hope we see you in the woods soon.
