EARL YEARS PRACTITIONER
Hi, my name is Michelle!
I joined the Den room of Free Rangers in April 2019 after moving to Somerset.
I have been working with children and young people for over 15 years and began my career in Early Years working in a playgroup, where I also became SENCO and gained my Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education.
For the past 13 years I have worked as a 1:1 teaching assistant to several children with additional needs, alongside general teaching assistant roles. I was based in a small, rural primary school in Cornwall, which had a Woodlands School attached. The Woodlands School, which is the same as a Forest School, provided all the children with another element to learning. It proved to be extremely effective in allowing all children to access the curriculum especially those who struggled within the classroom environment. This is what inspired me to undertake my FdA Children and Young People's workforce and BSc Applied Social Science degree, whilst working as a teaching assistant.
Finding a role within Free Rangers allows me to work in an environment which I know allows all children to grow and flourish.
My passion is seeing all children learn and access their learning environment, no matter what ability or needs they may have.
