JESSICA KENDRICK
DEPUTY MANAGER
SENCO/BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT
Hi all, I’m Jessica and I live locally with my husband and young son and daughter, who are at a local primary school.
I joined Free Rangers back in 2011, when we opened the doors to our very first children. During my time at Free Rangers I have worked with the pre-school children and then quickly moved on to become Deputy Manager. I am now part of a wonderful Management team who ensure Free Rangers is the very best it can be. During my time at Free Rangers I have always held the SENCO role (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) and this now forms a large part of my job role. I am passionate about ensuring children with additional needs can be fully included in our setting and can transition to school with the skills and support they need.
Prior to Free Rangers I attended the University of Wales, Swansea, where I completed a degree in Early Childhood Studies. I then went on to complete my teacher training in 2007 and found my passion for educating children and outdoor learning. In 2008, while working within a nursery, I gained my Early Years Professional status (EYP) and realised that the Early Years was where I wanted to focus my career.
I truly love the Early Years for the freedom it gives you to be creative and give children the quality early experiences they need to learn and develop as individuals. I truly believe that the outdoors is the most amazing classroom and love contributing towards a setting that holds this ethos close to its heart.
Favourite tree – Can I say Christmas tree? I love the smell
Favourite forest animal – Deer
Favourite season – Tricky – I love the summer but I am always ready for the winter to come, I love a frosty morning.
