TAM CHIVERS
ROOM LEADER IN THE DEN
When my children went to nursery I was asked to help out, and loved it! After years working in accounts I retrained and qualified to level three in Early Years Practice. With fifteen years’ experience I was thrilled to be offered a position at Free Rangers. My role in the Den is to engage with each child and nurture their desire to explore and learn by offering support and building their self-confidence; understanding each child has individual needs to reach their full potential. Children develop through experience but they will only seek out those experiences if they find them enjoyable.
The Free Rangers ethos mirror my fondest childhood memories, looking for mushroom fairy rings, blackberry picking, walking across snowdrifts… essentially a childhood spent outdoors surrounded by nature. It is therefore not surprising that the start-up message on my mobile phone reads, ‘Every day is a beautiful day.’
