APPRENTICE IN THE DEN

Hello, I'm Nina.

I am delighted that that I have recently completed my NVQ level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce. To support this I have been volunteering at Free Rangers Nursery, in the Den for two years.  I really enjoyed my time here and was delighted to obtain a role in the Free Rangers.  I realise that with children they continue to amaze us, as I working with children and continue to learn.

I have two children, one at nursery and one at primary school.  Since I have lost my ability to hear, I have become a cochlear implant user, this provides me with the sensation of hearing, even though I am profoundly deaf. As a consequence I welcome any child and young person with special needs and I value equality and diversity.  It is one of my aims to research further about child development and potential with valuing their independence, I enjoy learning with fun and support their needs as well as I can.

Outside of Free Rangers, I have been a senior pensions officer, administrator, actress, sports leader, and supported disabled people. I enjoy travelling – preferably to somewhere warm!
