Recently in the Nest we have had lots of new babies join us. This is a very exciting time for the babies as it means that they have lots of new faces to meet in the Nest including the other members of staff from the other rooms, they have lots of new friends to make within the Nest. We encourage our babies to gain friendships with the children in the Warren during our time in the baby garden. During the babies time at Free Rangers they will be building a lot of new relationships.
Positive relationships are
- warm and loving, and foster a sense of belonging
- sensitive and responsive to the child’s needs, feelings and interests
- supportive of the child’s own efforts and independence
- consistent in setting clear boundaries
- stimulating
- built on key person relationships in early years settings (Early Years Foundation Stage)
All the children in the Nest will have a keyworker this will either be myself (Jade), Madi or Poppy. As a parent you would have been told this on your child’s settling-in’s, if you are unsure of your child’s keyworker please do not hesitate asking, you will also be able to find this out also by looking at the keyworker board as you enter the Nest.
During this week in the Nest we have been putting up a new display, this includes photos of our family members, the children in the nest absolutely love this! When looking at the photos some of the children are able to point to themselves or their family members. We thought that this would be a good idea for the babies to look at as they are able to feel comforted by these images as the babies are able to relate the photos to home. Please feel free to bring anymore photos that you may have in!
