Staff here at the nursery appreciate that understanding the Early Years Entitlement funding is not an easy concept to grasp. With this is mind we thought it helpful to put together a video highlighting how the funding works at Free Rangers.
Please do watch the video if you are a parent who already receives funding for your child or indeed if you are a parent who in the future will receive funding.
At present we allow parents two options of accessing the funding for their child. You can either access the 15 hours for 38 weeks of the year within our term times or you can elect for 12 hours all year round. In this case there will be a shortfall of 30 hours of non-funded hours. These hours can be paid for in August or you can choose not to send your child to nursery for the last two and a half weeks in August.
Watch this space as this could be all set to change……..you may or may not have heard of the proposed changes to childcare that were put forward by the Government over the Summer. David Cameron announced plans to double free childcare for working parents, with some families set to benefit as early as next year.
We eagerly await more news on this subject as it could have huge implications for Early Years settings.
We are also in receipt of two year old funding and the more recently obtained Early Years Pupil Premium. If you would like further information on either of these types of funding and wonder if you are eligible then please do pop into the office and chat with Gemma.
