We once again opened up our Paddock to welcome lots of excited children back for our Holiday Club. This time it was the turn of our Christmas Special: Two days of 'Festive Forest School Frolicking' in the wonderful outdoors.
The days booked up incredibly fast, and we had a great mix of children and interests which kept the two days varied for all. We had planned all the usual Forest School favourites for the children to get stuck into, but also gave the children the option to craft something Christmassy, but only if they wanted to. There were wooden disks, hammers, drills, nails and string for your creative elves to craft into some Christmas tree decorations, and also a bag of clay and some cookie cutters to stamp out some seasonal shapes.
Lunch time didn't escape the festive makeover either, and the children could choose turkey, pigs in blankets, and cranberry sauce to add their pizzas! Furthermore, to warm hearts and minds, the children also made some mulled apple juice, infused with clementines, lemon, cinnamon sticks and cloves, to go alongside some mince pies. Jealous? All good fuel to see the children through the afternoon's fun and games!
As always, these little adventurers did wonderfully. They never cease in their ability to make me proud, whether it be through their creativity or their attitude to using real tools, they make the job so rewarding. If you're interested, here are some photos I snapped during the two days to give you a flavour of what we got up to: https://flic.kr/s/aHskQWKUME
I'd like to take this moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to welcoming you back in 2017 for more outdoor adventures!
