It's not long now until we wave goodbye to Gemma and wish her well on her maternity leave. We can't wait to meet her little girl and we certainly can't wait for her return.

But until that time I wanted to properly introduce myself as Gemma's maternity cover.

I'm Charlotte (one of the owners of Free Rangers) and I'm looking forward to taking over the reigns for a little while in Gemma's absence.

My sister and I opened Free Rangers over six years ago now and since then we have both worked closely with Gemma to nurture our outdoor learning ethos and develop the site whilst always trying to remain true to our values.

Gemma is due to leave on July 18th, which will be my official start date but until then I will endeavour to introduce myself on the gate in the mornings and will be present throughout the day in the office, learning the ropes.

Part of me wanting to attempt to fill Gemma's boots is to get to know you and all your children better and for Free Rangers to continue to strive to be the best Early Years Setting it can be.

1) Do you feel we meet your child's needs with regards to their learning and development? If yes, how? If no, why and how can we get better?

2) Do you access Tapestry (your child's online learning diary?) Do you feel this is adequate feedback? If not, how could we do better?

3) We try hard to communicate the learning and development that takes place onsite, via a brief verbal feedback at the end of your child's session, via formal observations on their Tapestry account, via weekly blog posts and a monthly newsletter sent via email. Where possible we also add additional posts on our Facebook page and Instagram feed. But we realise understanding what your child has been up to is really important, so do you feel we could be better in any way? Some of you mentioned you'd like a regular informal get together, if you agree, what would be good times, days for us to arrange something?

5) We are always looking to improve your child's experience whilst at Free Rangers, how do you feel we could improve our facilities?

8) We realise invoicing is a source of frustration to some of our families. In your case have you experienced invoicing issues? If so were you happy they had been addressed promptly? What was your invoicing issue?
