As many parents will already know, I will be leaving FreeRangers on Monday 31st March. So I’m using this as an opportunity to say Goodbye (So long, Farewell, Auf Wierdeshen!)
It’s with mixed emotions that I depart, having been here since we first opened in August 2011. It’s hard to believe that this busy nursery, with its constant hustle and bustle was a windowless barn back then. We moved the furniture in as the builders were moving their tools out.
I remember trips to the firepit with the toddlers (where we mercilessly pestered Ed for marshmallows), and the long sunny afternoons, filled with waterplay and walks along the Greenway. I also have fond memories of splashing in muddy puddles, then finding them to be MUCH deeper than even my wellies!
Many toddlers have passed through the Burrow in that time. I hope they also take with them happy memories of their time with me, and that I was able to make a positive contribution to their development in some way.
Thank you to all of the parents and children for making each day so varied and enjoyable. Reflecting back over my time here, it’s clear to see how much the nursery has evolved. I’m sure that when I come back to visit I’ll see even more changes!
I wish all the children, parents and staff every happiness at FR. Keep in touch!
