Wonderful water, we have been exploring different coloured water, red, yellow and blue. We had lots measuring utensils including jugs, funnels, spoons, cups and bowls. The babies experimented with the different utensils exploring and investigating space, the babies used the cups to scoop up the water, then transferred the water to, and from the three different water trays. Other babies enjoyed exploring the feel of the water and splashing using their hands. This activity aims to develop physical skills, gross motor skills and hand eye-coordination.
We also talked about the different colours of the water some of the babies were about to name the colours, others listened to me talking about our findings. Talking about the colours helps the babies develop their knowledge and further their mathematical language.
During this activity some of our clothes got very wet, please can you ensure you bring several changes of clothes for your children, we do engage in lots of great messy, muddy and water based play activities daily therefore we get through a lot of changes of clothes.
Thank you
Lou
