This week in the Warren we provided the babies with lots and lots of shredded paper, we hid a range of animals in among the paper.

The babies explored the shredded paper, using both of their hands to search through it to find the different animals, the babies picked up the animals and were able to make the noises. Some of the babies were able to name the animals and hid them for their friends to find.

The babies enjoyed exploring the paper, feeling it with their hands, throwing it in the air and pretending that it’s snowing. A few of the babies placed it on their heads and their careers heads and said “hiding” playing hidey boo with the paper, developing our personal social emotional skills interacting with our careers.

Some of the babies found the buckets and spades, then used the spades to scoop up the shredded paper and placed it into the bucket, developing their hand eye-coordination. Enjoying emptying and filling the buckets, this is a high interest across the Warren at the moment and can be seen in other activities we have accessed this week. Such as exploring the sand pit with buckets and spades. Our Forest School activity over the past few weeks, collecting leaves, sticks, flowers and grasses placing them in containers and then added water. The babies enjoyed collecting the water from the water butt and then emptying the water containers and repeating.
