This week in the Nest we've been celebrating Chinese New Year, and our little monkeys have been busy getting creative! We've been making a Chinese lanterns and we've also been decorating sticks and twigs to make our own mobiles as our Forest School activity!
We've been focusing on using physical skills to mark make with a purpose and also showing control in holding and using jugs to pour, hammers, books and mark-making tools.
So last week we set off on a mission to collect some sticks ready for this week, and we found some, they were all shapes and sizes! The babies loved walking along the green way to find some sticks! We seen some horses, goats and chickens! Some of the babies were a bit wore out after a busy morning, that they fell asleep!
So this week we have been getting our little monkeysto creative! And they did! They loved painting the sticks! We mixed paint and PVA glue and let the babies get stuck in, literally with lots of different coloured paint and glitter!
The Nest is now covered in paint and glitter! So expect some little treats from your little monkeys next week!
新年快乐
Happy New Year from the Nest!
