I hope you’ve had a good week and haven’t been struggling too much with all this cold weather this week! We have been double clothing the children, alongside their coats and waterproofs so no cold children here!
Last week I noticed how much the children got from our ‘being lost in the jungle’ that I thought it would be a good session plan. I kept the arrow activity going which has been a big hit for a couple of weeks now and I thought we could get one more week out of the children’s enthusiasm.
Before we went on Forest School we read our very famous ‘walking through the jungle’ book which as you may know has been playing a lot in the Burrow in recent months. After we finished our snack on Forest School I introduced that we suddenly were lost in a jungle! Oh no! The children looked very intrigued when I was talking to them about the jungle, one child said “uh oh, how will we get back?”
I showed the children where the first arrow was and stood back to watch them. As they trundled through the Paddock searching for arrows I couldn’t help but notice how well they understood which way the arrow was pointing. A few of the younger children needed a little more guidance and enthusiasm which we were more than happy to do.
Over the past few weeks it’s great to see how much the children have learnt on their Forest School sessions and the confidence I see is amazing to see!
Thanks for reading,
Lauren
