Myself, Madi, Lou, Cat, Tiff, Abbie and the rest of Free Rangers would like to welcome all the new babies into the baby unit! Which after a few weeks and lots of votes from all you lovely people has been renamed as... THE HIVE!
Both rooms will still be known as the Nest and Warren but as a whole, we would like to welcome everyone the Hive!
So as we are now known as the Hive, we've been very busy bees! For the past few weeks we've had lots of new babies join us! This is a very exciting time for everyone! The not so new babies have been making lots of new friends with the new babies!
Because the weather has been brilliant for us over the past few weeks we've been out enjoying the sunshine! Last week Charlotte let us borrow her 3 boys paddling pool! And the babies have absolutely loved it! Not one of the babies came back inside dry! Lots of soggy clothes! (I also ended up a bit soggy too!)
We've also been building lots of sand castles out in the tuff trays! Whilst doing this myself and the other girls were encouraging lots of speech and language! Using words such as "digging, sand, castle, scooping, uh oh"
We've also had the soft play bricks out in the garden which we kindly borrowed from the lovely Burrowers! We've been encouraging the babies to climb onto the bricks, and taking lots of risks! (A few of the babies in the Nest are a bit too good at climbing at the moment!)
Abbie has been getting very creative and made a wonderful mixture of bubble bath, paint and a splash of water! She then whisked it together and the bubbles began to appear! But not just any bubbles, COLOURED BUBBLES! All babies got involved helping Abbie whisk it up!
We have also been focusing on our balancing and walking along the beams and standing on the tyres. The babies really enjoyed practicing balancing!
In the Nest this week we have had the water pat mat out! This has been a great activity for our younger babies as they've been able to experience water play without getting wet! The younger babies have enjoyed tummy time whilst lying on the pat mat! The older babies have enjoyed crawling onto the mat and patting it with their hands and feet to move the different sea creatures around!
We've also had the mobile phones out (don't worry they're not real ones!) This has been great for the babies to develop their speech and language skills, and also their pretend play and imagination! The babies have been picking up the phones to their ears and speaking using words like "Hiya", "hello", "bub bi" a few of the babies have developed this and have begun to start using more words for example "mum mum" and "dada"
Thank you for reading and I'm sure you'll hear from us busy bees very soon!
