These feet were made for walking…and now I’m asking them to run! What’s going on?
Well…it’s a bit like this…
Back in September 2013, I ran the Bristol Half Marathon for fun and ended the race with a foot injury (ouch!). With lots of physio and rest my foot gradually recovered but it took a year! During that time I became rather lazy, preferring to sit on the sofa and lounge around at the end of a day and during weekends.
I decided to change my job in January 2015 and joined Free Rangers. I was then thrown into the very busy world of two year olds, running the Burrow and getting to know everyone in what used to be the Warren and the Nest. As you all know, these two rooms have become one and are now known as The Hive. I also oversee the running of The Hive and enjoy spending time with the staff and having fun with the children.
Things were going along quite smoothly until in November2016 I decided that I needed to do more with my spare time! (‘What spare time?’ I hear you all shout). I know, I thought to myself, I’ll start running again and promptly signed up to do the Bath Half Marathon! Well, March 12th 2017 seemed a long way off and I was bound to get the hang of it again wasn’t I? I needed a good charity to help keep me motivated so I’ve chosen ‘CLIC Sargent’ the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families as my focus.
Oh my goodness! It’s nearly the end of February which means that March is almost here!!!! The big question is…Will I be ‘race ready’?
Well…I’ve set up a fund raising page (which is a good start) at:
http://www.justgiving.com/Soraya-Hall2
It would be great if you were able to make a donation (check out your pockets, bottom of bags, corners of purses and wallets) or simply click on the link which will take you to my fundraising page.
If that’s not for you then wish me luck and look forward to seeing me back in the Burrow on 13th March, bright and early, ready for breakfast!
Thanks for reading.
