Key Topics/themes, what has gone well? (child led focus)
Learning outcomes – physical development, moving and handling.
Exploring large cardboard boxes, climbing in and out and filling them with a selection of toys. The children then began to role play pretending the boxes were cars, using single words such as ‘brrm brrm’ ‘beep, beep’.
We have also been using the bouncy castle, some of the babies were a little unsure to begin with due to the noise but with lots of encouragement and role modelling from the adults and other babies they soon began to enjoy it. Climbing up the side, bouncing up and down on both feet working on their balance and coordination.
We have also been playing with the small world ‘happy land toys’ fixing the road pieces together and pushing the cars and vehicles along. Playing with the people and animals in the different buildings; bakery, school and post office. Beginning to talk about the different people ‘boy, girl, hat, shoes etc.
Books/songs/groupwork /forest school(Adult led activities)
During circle time we have enjoyed reading stories about animals, they have been able to name the animals and make the correct sounds.
They have continued to love singing, pointing to the song basket asking an adult to do some singing. They have enjoyed using the song cards, being able to choose a song themselves, looking at the picture on the card naming the song. They are also starting to join in with singing and copying the actions.
the Garden
Playing in the coloured water in a variety of levelled trays. Filling and emptying jugs and containers, then pouring and mixing to make different colours.
