As the leaves start falling from the tree and the evenings are beginning to get colder I think we can finally say that we are seeing signs of autumn, you might find that instead of grabbing a t-shirt from the wardrobe it may be a jumper!
Here at Free Rangers we thrive in any weather, through rain or snow we always ensure the door is open for the children to explore their world. We are very lucky that we have lots of surrounding fields/woods and have our own paddock, these are full of trees and bushes so the children are starting to notice that there are leaves on the floor. “Why have the leaves come off?” one little boy asked me, of course it’s hard to explain to a 2 year old the whole process of seasons.
One of our daily tasks at Free Rangers is ensuring your child is wearing correct clothing for their day ahead, we tend to know what weather is planned for the day so we know how to prepare. Now that we’re somewhere in the middle between hot and cold weather, we do ask parent’s to try not to under dress their children or in many cases over dress. We, as a team, understand that it’s hard to get the clothing business spot on, as we do live in England!
I have just jotted down a few things of what we expect your child to bring in everyday to ensure they are protected from all weather.
- Coat, please ensure that your child’s coat is waterproof and preferably has a hood. Also we advise parents not to bring their children in body warmers, unless a coat is provided to put on top.
- Wellies
- Jumper
- 2-3 changes of clothes, remember that we do like to get messy at free rangers so old clothing is advised
- Socks, it’s surprising how many socks we go through a day!
