This week in the Warren we have been celebrating Christmas week.
We have set out lots of activities for the children to participate in such as bauble decorating, Christmas cracker colouring and making our own Christmas cards. Our room has also been decorated from top to bottom with tinsel, ribbon and glitter, which the children have found both amusing and extremely entertaining.
They thoroughly enjoyed developing and exploring their creative side by using their hand and eye coordination to use bingo dabbers to dab, spread and create colourful patterns across their Christmas cracker pictures.
When decorating the baubles the children have been using their fine motor skills, using a paintbrush to dab glitter and paint them. The children then watched as they were hung up to dry in the room.
We loved making our Christmas cards. The children had a choice of making a Christmas tree or a reindeer. They also had the opportunity to use glitter pens and paint. A lot of them chose to make a reindeer and for this we painted their feet and placed their feet down on to some coloured card, then we drew on some antlers, eyes and a red nose.
At the end of the week both the Warren and the Burrow joined rooms and had free flow between the two rooms and we had a Christmas party altogether. This included Christmas singing and dancing, painting, stories and much more. The children as well as the staff enjoyed the party and will be carrying on the festivities.
From the Warren, we all hope that you all have a lovely Christmas and we look forward to hearing what you all get up to over the holidays.
Merry Christmas everyone.
