This week in the Warren we have been enjoying the lovely sunshine and the beautiful weather. We have gone out as much as we can, ensuring we have put on lots of sun cream to protect ourselves from the sun. We have taken out lots of toys from our room to cover all areas of our learning and the topics we have been focusing on, including puzzles, crates so we could build towers and also books. As well as this we have been enjoying the toys that are already in the garden such as the sand pit and slides! We are currently improving our mud kitchen and waiting for new resources so we can enjoy digging and making mud soup!
We went out in the baby garden early so that we could have plenty of time playing in the garden before we had to come back in, when it was getting too hot. The children enjoyed sitting down together and having a picnic snack in the shade. We also went out again in the late afternoon when it had cooled down.
When it got too hot, we decided to fill the toddle boxes up inside with water so that we could keep cool. Our babies loved sitting in the water, making lots of splashes and pouring water using cups.
We have been talking to the babies about the importance of drinking lots of water, applying sun cream and wearing our hats when itβs sunny and hot outside.
