We've flown the Nest!

May 10, 2016 Jade Edgell

Madi and I have flown the Nest, but don't worry we haven't gone far! We have flown over to the farmhouse and into a new nest, which is bigger and brighter and boasts direct access on to the great outdoors. Myself and Madi are very excited and are still nest building and working out how best to use the space, or even how our little ones find fit to use the new space.

Over the past year Madi and I have worked closely together. We've seen our older babies turn into cheeky toddlers who have flown the Nest and begun their new adventures in the Warren and even the Burrow!

Madi and I have become extremely close with Valerie and Wendy too! (I suppose you have to really being next to them in the kitchen! Only joking Val!) And we are going to miss them both lots, but they've got no need to worry as I'm sure Madi and I will be over to try her new recipes and amazing cakes! Thanks for putting up with our brilliant singing and dancing!

Over the past month, Charlotte the co-owner of the Nursery who lives in the farm house, has had to clear out her dining room, lounge, utility room and play room to make room for the new Nest and Warren as we're expanding! Exciting!

Charlotte has kept us up to date with pictures as her dining room and lounge have transformed into 2 open spaces fit for 21 babies and all of the staff of course! Madi, Lou, Abbie, Cat and I are very excited about the move and we're also welcoming 2 new members of staff!

Jess's husband Alan came down to help lay the patio! (Which looks brilliant and this week the babies have enjoyed mark making on the patio with the chalk!) Ed has also helped and put a lovely fence around parts of the garden to stop the babies escaping (although I'm not sure they would want to, as our garden is lovely!)

Vince got very creative and made lovely decking! Which has had lots of comments from parents over the past couple of days, and quite a few have asked if you can go and visit their garden too! (What do you think Vince?)

The Nest and Warren are now working closely as a team and are spending a lot more time together whether it be inside or outside. This is great as it encourages the younger babies to create a bond with Lou, Cat and Abbie before they fly the Nest into the Warren. And it also means that Madi and I can have cuddles with all our older babies again and also meet lots of new babies who are beginning their Free Rangers' journey in the Warren!

So far this week has been brilliant! The weather has been very kind to us and ensuring that the babies are able to explore the new garden to it's full potential, and we even had to get the sun cream out! Yey!

After being in the new rooms for a couple of days, things are running alot more smoothly, and we're spending as much time as possible out in the lovely garden and paddock!

Hopefully the sun will keep shining and the water proofs can be put away until Autumn (wishful thinking I know!)

Thank you for reading,

Jade
