I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new nest families and I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. At the end of last term we said goodbye to our older children as they graduated on to the Warren. Although sad for myself and Cat it is wonderful to see how well they are getting on, sneaking cheeky cuddles when we get a chance.

We have introduced our new children to the world of Free Rangers by getting messy, visiting the park, exploring toys and bringing in aspects of Forest School: exploring the paddock, making wellie footprints in soil and mark-making with sticks. All of our babies have taken this in their stride getting stuck in wherever possible.

It is important in these initial weeks that we begin to make a strong bond with our children to ensure their happiness and wellbeing whilst at nursery. I would like to thank all our parents who provided us with a detailed ‘All About Me’, this is a great way for us to learn your child’s likes, dislikes and how best to comfort them. (This folder is referred to as our bible!)

Our main focus in the coming weeks is to encourage “Personal, Social and Emotional Development,” creating positive relationships with all children supporting each child’s own efforts and independence through a warm and loving bond.

As important as it is that the children are happy whilst in our care it is also vital that our parents feel just as welcomed and settled. Myself and Cat know how daunting it can be for a parent to leave their child and both strive to make you feel comfortable and hopefully at ease to ask any questions. We welcome parents input into our day, if your child develops specific interests at home it would be lovely to know about it at nursery so we can provide activities towards this. As parents you know everything there is to know about your child and we always welcome your wisdom.
