This week in the Nest we've been focusing on awareness of simple mathematical concepts and number names. This includes recognising big and small things in meaningful context, developing an awareness of number names through action ryhmes and songs, getting to know and enjoy the Nest's daily routines, has some understanding that things still exist when out of sight.

As a part of our Forest School activity this week in the Nest, we have been growing cress! We placed an egg box onto the table and placed a few pieces of cotton wool next to it, watching the babies as they made their way over to the table to explore.

As many of you know at Free Rangers we love to do a range of Forest School activities with every age of children, this varies throughout the rooms (as we wouldn’t recommend fire lighting with the babies!) In the Nest we love to take part in Forest School activities whether it be going for a lovely long walk along the greenway to see the horses and chickens or filling up the tuft spot with soil and letting the children mark make in it.
