In the Warren, we have decided to have a total change around of furniture in order to make the room more engaging for the children. We quite often have change arounds in our room.

Settling in to the Warren

Over the last two weeks, we have had lots of new children start in the Warren. Some coming down from the Nest and new children coming from outside of Free Rangers. To help the children settle in and make the transition as easy as we can for them, we have been basing most of our activities on their interests.

Exploring the Warren

This week as Early Years Practitioners’ we have been focusing on supporting our little ones, in feeling safe and secure in their new environment. We have been guiding and encouraging them to explore their new surroundings, being able to freely access and find their own individual choice of toys.

This week in the Warren we have been celebrating Christmas week. We have set out lots of activities for the children to participate in such as bauble decorating, Christmas cracker colouring and making our own Christmas cards.

Christmas Stay and Play

Floating away

Last week In the Warren we got very creative, using glue, crayons and glitter to decorate sails for our tinfoil boats. Firstly our Early Year’s Practitioners Lou, Abbie and Cat cut out tiny triangles for the children to use.

Muddy Puddles!

Free Rangers have been enjoying the British weather this week! Myself and Madi were looking out into the Carpark on a wet and soggy Monday morning and decided it would be a great day to go puddle jumping! But not any normal puddle jumping...

Obstacle course and getting ready for Halloween!

This week in the Warren, we decided to rearrange the baby garden and create an obstacle course for the babies. We have created stepping stones with tree stumps and crates, a balancing beam which is just off the ground, and then they were able to walk over the bridge before going down the slide.

I See

This week we have been focusing on a story called “I See”. This is a book written by Charlotte and Jayne, who are the founders of our lovely nursery. Charlotte and Jayne grew up on a farm and think highly of what the farm environment can give to young children growing up.

Autumn is on its way

This week in the Warren we have been putting on our wetsuits, wellie boots and coats, so that we can go outside and have fun in the rain. This is the time of year when the weather is starts to become colder and the leaves start to fall from the trees. Here at Free Rangers, we love this time of year. The weather is ever changing and with this, it brings new experiences.

Blackberry Mess!

The babies in the Warren enjoyed blackberry picking so much last week that we decided to carry on going blackberry picking again this week. Instead of eating them for snack, we decided to create blackberry paint and create some pictures for a new display.

This week in the Warren, we have been very interested in animals.  We have been going on adventures around the farm both looking at what animals we can find, as well as hunting for blackberries so that we can eat them for snack.

A Walk Amongst the Farm Animals

This week on our Forest School sessions, we have been on long walks around the farm, visiting all the animals. We’ve been focussing our ability to manage our own risks, carefully walking around the farm yard on the uneven ground without falling over, steadily walking up the steps to the office to visit Bobby bird and navigating around the kissing gate on the way to visit the chickens.

This week in the Warren

This week in the Warren we have been busy with a range of various activities. Some of these include going for a walk along the cycle track on a hunt for some mini beasts, drawing on a sheet of paper on the floor having tummy time, going for a walk along the cycle track to the park and bouncing on the bouncy castle in our room.

Free Rangers Children Fleeing the Nest….Warren…..Burrow and…… Den

I spoke to Norton Hill students this week.
It was our chance to tell them all about Early Years Education during one of their careers assemblies.

It’s not easy trying to sell a career that is underpaid and undervalued within our society. .

This amazing totally handmade tree was crafted at the weekend by Charlotte from the Den, along with the gorgeous
A get together before Christmas. .
We went to @fosse_farm for a Christmas wreath building session and Sue put on such a lovely evening with nibbles and drinks and Robbie Williams playing.

It can be hectic at this time of year but Sue kept everyone
On Friday night Tammy and Sophie from the Hive and the Den taught us how to “Pom Pom” (not sure if that’s an actual verb) and gave us a taster at being a majorette for the night.
.
I think we all incurred a few bumps and bruises but
Introducing Bramble, causally mooching around her native habitat. 
She lives on site at Free Rangers and the children have all got to know her well.
